After the holidays, most of these trees are put out
for the trash. These trees unnecessarily fill landfills
where it can take up to 30 years for them to decompose. Through the efforts of the Leadership Carbon Class of 2007 Environmental Initiative, CCEEC will give these dead trees new life!

What is Treecycling?
Simply put; treecycling is the recycling of cut live Christmas trees into other usable materials, such as garden mulch.

Here’s how it works: Bring your Christmas tree, wood scraps, and tree trimmings to CCEEC, and take home mulch for use in your garden or community. In addition, mulch will be used to improve recreational and educational trails at CCEEC as well as park grounds. It’s a win-win situation!

Here's what to do: Bring your tree – free of all tinsel, ornaments, etc. – to CCEEC. Click here for directions. Please take your tree to the rear of the main building (follow the signs) and place it high on the pile with the others. Please note the collection site is different than tree collections from other years.

Christmas trees can be taken to the center any day. Other types of tree refuse, branches etc. will be accepted, but please call first to make arrangements.

Thanks for treecycling!
